A delegation from Zambia visited Peru

A delegation from Zambia, an African country, visited Peru, between 22 and 24 July to know the experience of "Creating Markets Sanitation" Initiative with the aim of being able to replicate the model in their country.

 
Sales and loans increasing

Sales of products and supplies for sanitation in the pilot areas increased by 13% compared to February while loans by 18%.

 
Increasing of credit activity for sanitation

The financial institution that issued the majority of credits was the ‘Caja Municipal de Ahorro y Crédito of Cuzco’, followed by Scotiabank and ‘Financiera EDYFICAR’. The credit activity for sanitation recovered movement in the month of March, after a drop in February.

 
New spaces and forms of promotion

New spaces and forms of promotion of sanitation services are being driven looking to reach more potential customers at lower costs. Five itinerant modules that operate in the high traffic areas’ market were implemented in Pachacutec.

 
 
Hardward stores are extending credits

‘Jahir ‘ and ‘Santa Rosa’ hardware stores, members of the initiative, are extending credit to customers captured through the initiative, with very good results: satisfied customers and growing business.

 
Rated as “Very Good”

Families have rated the services received by the initiative as "very good", both because of easier access to credit as the benefit of having a bathroom.
